About watering my plant

A free tool that tells you when to water each of your houseplants.

Pick your plant, answer four quick questions — plant size, how the soil feels, what the pot is made of and how much light it gets — and you get a watering schedule that fits that plant in your home. No account, no app, no sign-up.

How the schedule is worked out

Every plant starts from its own typical interval — a Monstera Deliciosa is about every 9 days, a cactus closer to every three to four weeks. Your answers then nudge that up or down as a share of the plant’s own rhythm: terracotta pots, bright light, small pots and dry soil shorten it; glazed pots, low light, large plants and wet soil stretch it. A small Monstera Deliciosa in terracotta on a bright windowsill, for example, comes out at about every 6 days. The result always stays between half and double the plant’s baseline, so no combination of answers can push a plant into something silly.

The schedule also checks the local weather forecast for your approximate area. Hot, dry spells tighten the interval a little and cool, damp weeks relax it, within a limited range.

Where the plant data comes from

The 49 plants on the site each have a baseline interval, a note on whether they like to dry out between waterings, and a short care guide. The data is checked automatically before every update — for example, drought-tolerant plants must come out with longer intervals than moisture-loving ones. Browse them all in the plant watering guides.
